Hi,

This is my first post so I just want to say hi to everyone. Im seeking some advise regarding a change in career.

I'm 21 and have been working 3 years within the bank of new york dealing with account setups / coding. I'm looking to leave this job as I need more of a changelle and want to break into stock trading. I currently do not have any university degrees, but do have GCSE , A-levels, and further higher education.

Due to the current job markets, would it be benificial for me to do the SII units 1-4 off my own back and start applying for jobs once it picks up? Or would I be wasting my time?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

You are definably not wasting your time, you are chasing your dream... what you need to do is network. Find some old contacts from the bank of New York and start getting connected to them. Use linkedin for instance

The units you will need if you are based in the UK are unit 1 and 2, since 1 regulations and 2 is securities.

The current market situation is really bad so your CV must be very good so your Covering letter

Good Luck
