Capacity Investable attribute (CP)

Can the capacity be increased or decreased depending on the type of order?

Limit - Stop - Immediate order
IMO it's more a question when the order will be executed.
Night scalping, News trading, market opening trading and other situations with reduced liquidity will decrease capacity.
Trading during the main market hours outside special situations will increase capacity.
Only immediate market orders can give you control about the timing of the execution.

The only way to increse capacity without changing strategy is to split a single entry into multiple entries.
Instead of entering with 0.04 you enter 4 times with 0.01 with a delay of 10 seconds.
In this way you wait for liquidity to be replenished.

in theory it is better to open immediately than to put an order on hold?

Limits can only be entered with a difference to the current price and it's possible that they are executed with low liquidity on a dip.
As @CavaliereVerde said, depending on the order volume it makes sense to split an order if possible.
The typical volume or the best offer is 3 or 5 lots at LMAX and can be less during the Asian session.
