I've got an order into buy 126.99.

Hi Dante,

I've been wondering about your signature for a while. What does it mean? Why would Livermore have to wear a vendor's badge? He wasn't a vendor (are you referring to the fact that he wrote a couple of books?).

Confusing .

Because the new form of trading is pretending you can trade but selling your services instead?
What's that famous quote...?
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.
It's more like collect all the men and take their fish.
Of course there are a few good apples in the rotten barrel.

What's the other? Oh...I have 25 methods that I use but I'm showing this one for free to you all. I'm not going to explain it fully but you can find the rest on my site and pay a few grand.

Or those that put out free calls on twitter and then start charging for midweek services and refusing to answer direct questions about strategies.

Makes me sick.
There are two kinds of people in this country, the doomed and the screwheads.
F u c k the doomed!
...rant over ;)

He ran a newsletter / signal service.

Bit late with this update but long from the open possible target gap fill at 127.45
Take some profit at 127.35
127.45 is also the next possible short area depending on volume.

Edit: out of half for 10bps, still holding rest for 127.45 but looking likely to get stopped at be.

Hi SanMiguel,

Have a question for you, in these conditions do you think its wise to trade breaks in intra day levels, Supports and Resistances? Have been doing it since the summer and was very profitable until about 2 months ago. Finding it hard to see the same results! Easier to be trading within the range?

Thanks

I hardly ever trade breaks, I prefer to see the level break, wait for a retrace and then enter. It's up to your trading strategy I guess but going short at support and going long at resistance aren't high percentage trades IMO regardless of the conditions.

Thanks for your reply! well i was waiting for a break in levels, but worked when it was volatile and there were big moves. Iv been looking at turning it around though. Change in strategy is needed, but still new to this so all experience!

OOI, why did you start trading breakouts? Agreed, they probably work in volatile periods but that's a function of the volatility amongst other things.

Well the market was volatile when i started so it looked like a good option, tried it for a few months and was very successful. I was reading the way of the turtle! And maybe i got roped into the idea of trading break outs, so i thought i would give it a shot. but since then i have been thinking that it would be a better strategy in the long term. In the intra-day i guess due to the noise its not a very steady strategy! not so consistent, but as i said things have to be changed around. Still trying to find my feet!

I've not read it but as far as I understood it was just a trend following system. With trend following, it's usually easier to wait for a retrace and then get in...safer but it depends on your agressiveness for the trade.

I did try the wait for a retrace, but what i found is that when the bund wants to go it can move pretty aggressively (as you obviously know) like to get in on those moves. but i suppose they dont happen as much,so as far as consistency goes its better to be safe!

If you are getting short before a short breakout then no issue with it but if you are shorting as price moves beyond the support then you're going to get into trouble in the long run. The safe entry for breakouts is looking for a place or price action before the price breaks out, which is difficult to spot without a lot of price action experience.
