I know a lot of the FX platforms now give the ability to use a trailing stop....but is there any that offers a "Breakeven Stop" eg if you sell EUR/$ AT 1750 with stop loss at 1800 if it hits 1700 the stop moves to 1750 (breakeven) and stays there and does not carry trailing. Interested in such a thing because I dont have time to watch the markets all the time.

There are 2 platforms who offer this. strategy runner and Ninja Trader. if you are currently using J trader Most brokers firms will offer a bolt they tend to offer http://www.ninjatrader.com/main_features.htm

http://www.globalfutures.com/platforms/jtrader.html offer strategy runner, but they are based in the USA. I used to have an account with them. but I now use Berkeley futures based in London. I use Ninja Trader with them, But you got to pay $49 a month. and it does as you want.example if the market moves 50 points in moves you stop to break-even, and it will stay there if that's what you want. You can also take profits at the levels you want. take a look at the Video on they web site above

Whats the minimum amount required to open account with Berkely Futures- is there such a thing as a mini account with them? Liked the on-line version platform - noticed the Volatility Indicator - is there any other free site that gives you this indicator as standard (not ATR- Netdania doesnt)

To open an account with http://www.bfl.co.uk/ you need £3,000 and they are very help full in finding the right platform for you needs. They margin is $5,00 r/t.Yes you can get it cheaper with IB at $4.20 r/t but with Berkeley Futures when you phone them they will pick the phone up within seconds. That's why I moved to them. and they been going for 19 years. London based. If you give them a ring ask for Mark. He will answer all you questions.

Are there any reputable companies that allow mini future accounts - with a lower minimum amount to open - I am only a beginner and would to expeiment first...dont want to use a demo because to me this hasnt the same emotional test as using a live account

Phone mark and ask.maybe he can open an account for you with £1.000 . You are correct about a demo account its not the same as trading with real money the emotion is no there. But when trading with real money, make sure you dont risk no more than 1 to 2 % no the account and always use STOPS

I believe that oanda.com currently has the lowest spread on mini accounts. 1.5 pips most of the time (they raise their spreads during 2-4 minutes around announcements and mid Friday afternoon for an hour or two) I think IB allows 1/2 contract trades, at an effect rate of less than 2 pips too.
