Quick question...

When Buying and selling through direct access on the FTSE... how close can you buy at bid and sell at ask...? (realisticly...) ie making the spread work with you..

Thanks in advance to all who answer....

Cheers...

Ftse future is usually quoted .5
You can quite easily buy the bid and sell at the offer.

The price you can trade at. ie. 4485 bid 4485.5 offered. That's the minimum movement.

also how about actually shares in the FTSE 100 and 250... are these as easy to buy in the same way and capture the spread...?

I don't trade shares but I suspect it'd be more difficult. It depends on the liquidity of a particular share.

The average spread in FTSE 100 stocks will be available from the LSE- I "think" it's about 40 bp....
