I have never used a PUT to short the market before and i'm trying to understand the way OPTIONS are traded.
Checking the Spreadbetting firms on the MARCH PUT, the strike price available is 17500 with a premium around the 500 point mark.
Going by todays prices on the market I am taking a near 700 loss before I have started.
First of all am I understanding the pricing structure correctly? if so, is their more competitive prices available from different brokers outside of the Spreadbetting firms??
