In my opinion you need at least 3 things to be successful in short-term trading:

1) Capitol to trade with.

2. A good system that has at least 60% to 70% win rate.

3) The discipline to follow the system

Of course. Your wins must total more than your losses or any win ratio means nothing. You could theoretically have 99% wins and 1 loss that would completly wipe out all your gains. I didn't specifically address the win/loss factor because I was speaking in very general terms and consider that factor to be under discipline (cut your losses) and I did mention that.
