Hello, question about signals

Hello

I have started trading Forex ,but like the idea of using daily signals.

Does anyone reccomend any particular Forex alert services which have good performance and a low price?

Thanks for your help

You like the idea of making money without any effort or skill? Seriously, if someone is a genuinely profitable trader, they'll either trade their own account, or raise funds from investors. They won't sell signals for the low low price of $99.99 per month.

mabye a dumb q. but what happens to the firms who dont meet the 20mill minimum net capital requirments(assume that it comes to pass)??

Hi Interjake,
Welcome to T2W.
Most traders on here tend to recommend that you try and develop your own 'alert service'. The benefit of this is that it's free and you understand it, whereas a vendor is unlikely to offer you the methodology that triggers their alerts as, once you understand that, you'll no longer have a need for their service! Also, trading someone else's signals with your money carries zero risk to the vendor - in fact they make money regardless - and 100% risk to you. I've tried one myself in the past (not Forex) and when I lost money, the vendor said that the problem lay with me and not with his alerts which, he claimed, were brilliant. His reasoning was that I entered the trades too late or too early or set my stops too tight etc. If you're adamant that this is the route you want to go down, tread very carefully and be crystal clear about what you're getting yourself into. In the meantime, if you fancy developing your own ideas, try the 'Making Money Trading' thread by Trader_Dante in the first steps forum - lots of good ideas in there, clearly explained and the focus is on Forex.
Enjoy,
Tim.

Frazer White Group

:?: Hi, I am new to this site & struggling to find my way around!
I saw reference to Frazer White on a Google search but can't trace the thread.
What does anyone know about this lot and an outfit called Securites Validation Authority both in US?

umm, if you do a search of this site, there is a thread called "NFA dead firms walking" or similar. It has been documenting the demise of firms that did not meet the NFA minimum capitalization requirements.

Basically, the NFA has been hiking the requirement - from $1m to $5m, then $10m and potentially $20m next. You can see what happened to the various firms who did not meet the increasing cap in the thread, but they all basically either shut down or were forced to shut down, got bought out, ran off with clients money or managed to raise enough cash to continue operating.

Hello people!!
I just got registered here today, looks like a nice forum with allot of skilled persons. I`m a complete newbie in daytrading, I`ve ordered some books about the subject so I will soon start to learn the basics. But how difficult is daytrading? How long time did you use before you got a stable income from day trading? Do I have to accept some big losses in the beginning?

Looking forward to use this forum people!!

Greetings
Oddbjørn S.

What a great site. Sincerest apologies Sharky - I created a new thread about "differential in FTSE quote" (in first steps forum). Really I should have perhaps posted my question here. Anyway I know for next time!

Hi Oddbjørn - welcome to T2W.
how difficult is daytrading?
This isn't an unreasonable question for a newbie to ask, but it's not one that is easily answered I'm afraid. The reason for this is that of the numerous methodologies and timeframes available to trade, the right one - or best one for you - is governed exclusively by each individual trader. Day trading per se is no harder or easier than any other kind of trading. That said, if at heart you're a position trader, you're going to have a torrid time day trading, in the same way that Paula Radcliffe would struggle in the 100 metres dash.
How long time did you use before you got a stable income from day trading?
No easy answer here either! If you're taken on by a bank or prop firm, then I believe you'd be expected to be trading with real money inside six months or so. A self taught trader working from home, the answer ranges from a few months to never. There's an oft quoted maxim that says 'trading is simple, but it ain't easy'.
Do I have to accept some big losses in the beginning?
No, you don't. Test your strategy first until you're consistently profitable on paper before putting real money on the line. Read the very good article on this very topic, accessible from the T2W home page.
Good luck,
Tim.

Is there any automated trading software that averages 50pips daily?

yes of course there is. That's why every person on the planet is a gazzillionaire. Talking of planets, which one are you from ?

in other words, "no". But there is a very attractive alternative. It's called years of hard work, tears, going bust, depression, rage, joy, exhilaration, slowly comprehending what the markets are all about, before finally 1) mastering yourself (psychologically)and 2) developing a cohesive trading plan that may or may not exceed break-even eventually.

You think doctors and vets would spend 6 or 7 years sweating blood in Med school if there was such an automated software ? Rule number One in trading : Nothing is free or easy
