I know Saxo well.
They are market maker broker (in UK they are not called bank but capital, in their country they are a bank, less requirements).
They now have a direct market access system.
If you looking at Saxo then you must have good balance size so look at the other FCA regulated real ECN brokers:
Capmar Financial
Sucden Financial
CFH Market
Marex ($250,000 min deposit!)
These guys will not take your trades onto your book but will order direct to banks. I am using Capmar and so far is fantastic, I have second account with CFH, nearly same as Capmar but pricing is not as good.
