Yeah, pennies and tuppence's got melted down as well.
There was also a run on supplies of new copper pipe and fittings. You could buy it new, then drop it off at the scrap yard....instant profit !

Anyway....all my offspring are heating engineers etc. I've been educating them all in sorting, hoarding and recycling.

Where there's muck, there's brass.

Our copper mountain grows by the day !
