Alexander Hunt - and CISI / Fast Track exams

Does Anyone know if Alexander Hunt or Sky Hamilton are legitimate recruitment agencies or con merchants getting you to take courses (CISI, unit 1 and 2) and then the job offer disappears. Has anyone ever got a job from them?

I went to an interview, with regards to Investment Consultant. They knew that I do not hold CISI certificate. Nevertheless, they invited me and during the friendly interview all questions were around getting professional qualifications. Eventually the interviewer has recommended to go for CISI course with Fast Track CISI Certificate in Securities | Learn Express - Fast track your career
The training fee is 995GBP. Anyone knows what will happens after? Will the Alexander Hunt still have a job offer, or they will simply disappear?

It has been mentioned that their training materials are out of date though that hasn't been verified. What has been verified is that they have faked the testimonials on their website.

As for the job offer, well do you really think someone is keeping open a job just for you while you pass an exam? It won't happen, save your money or at least spend it on a proper training company that are CISI approved.

By the way who are/is Alexander Hunt?

All guys who are looking for a job within the financial sector, should be aware of these two companies activities: be invited for an interview - then recommended to purchase an expensive CISI training and then... the job offer probably disappear.

There are a lot of companies doing this sort of thing nowadays, to date I havnt heard of anyone who got a job. Most of these companies have been caught using fake testimonials on their websites.

If you look at the Alexander Hunt website they dont have an address or phone number and the registration details are also hidden. Stay well clear of these type of things, they are only after your money.

Although the registration details of the Alexander Hunt Recruitment website are hidden it does say that there are 95 other domain names owned by the same person. I'm guessing they will use one name until it gets exposed and then move onto the next one.

It is pretty depressing to learn of all the companies out there preying on people.

Half of me feels pity for the people that fall for it ( I almost fell for one of the most famous 2 day ones!), and the other half of me thinks, "well this is business and making money, if people are stupid to pay for it then well done to the companies" !

Usually these courses / exams are taken by people already employed by financial institutions, (following a thorough selection process). There are a brave few who take the course and exam off their own back hopng it shows they have initiative (I'm not sure this really works very often) but it is never offered by a recruitment consultant, any decent rec cons will show you the door if you are not qualified for the job, why would they waste their time when there are plenty of qualified candidates?

I think the point is that they are not in the recruitment business at all, they are pretending they are in order to flog overpriced (and possibly knocked off) training. That is how they make their money. Of course if they told the truth nobody would pay them hence the need to lie and fake testimonials. Others were doing the same with mortgage brokers exams and Learn Express were even flogging courses on how to be a PA.

i would imagine training companies like learn express are rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of all that new business @ £995 a pop.

at this point it may be prudent to check if joe is at all linked to learn express in any way. i'd imagine a loose affiliation perhaps? do any/all of joe's ready made sites direct potential job candidates to learn express?

some further reading has uncovered that joe indeed flogs websites as part of his course -

so anyone doing dd on any company before committing would see "Recruitment Agency Start Up" as the registrant, you then at least know it's one of joe's students at the helm.

I've just got a job as a PA for the director of Learn-Express - but it seemed really dodgy in the office, with a lot of people making calls to book interviews for people from Alexander Hunt recruitment and I thought I'd better check it out - and then I found this post.

Needless to say, I'm quitting! But I'd like to report the company, but don't really know how to. The address is 70 Clifton Street, London, EC2A 4HB and the email is [email protected]
