Several times (not everyday) during one month when I am accessing advfn my computer freezes. I am using windows xp . Can I overcome this problem somehow? Is it something to do with java? Do I have to change some settings. All help much appreciated. Thanks

advfn have regular problems.
you need to talk to them.

My sympathies osho, but I had the same problems with them off and on over a long period.
Eventually, had to admit defeat,and not use them any more.
Now use Lycos paid(about $12per month) for feed,prophet.net for charts (free).May upgrade prophet.net to silver for live charts.
