Clearly my misguided attempt at calling a FTSE top failed. Thankfully my trading pot has withstood the failure, thanks mainly to dollar weakness.
My New Year resolution - predictions (as someone has said) are for weathermen ...
Ended up a very profitable day whereas I had feared a sound thrashing. The more I learn the less I know :)
Still looks like an illuminating week ahead.

An interesting week ahead whichever way you look at it though. Market behaviour over the WHOLE week will tell us an awful lot about the future.

One of my previous roles used to involve a lot of statistical analysis and I swung between being fascinated by it and being completely turned off.

Looking like the Dax will be next to give the reversal signal with the Dow taking a little longer and ultimately suffering more. I didn't realise until looking through historical charts quite how often the FTSE leads the way at turning points.
If I'm wrong I'll be looking for a hostel that...

I think you're right re the Dow today, hungrybear. Yesterday's range is just too big to reverse in all probability. I'll be patient if I can - it'll happen soon enough.
