Good Morning All,

Thin conditions this week have me a bit frustrated. I'm up 3.5% - 9 for 12 - but it's been a bit of a struggle. Probably more me than the markets - nothing looks solid.

Had 1.5% in the bank yesterday but gave it back on a fade. Stopped out 2 pips from the high. I love this job. +1 pip on the day.

Good Morning All and Happy Friday,

The chop's on my nerves. Been that way all month. I'm flat for the week and up a little over 8% for the month but I gotta tread lightly 'cause I'm agitated. Plus, I had a +63% Q2 and that is more than enough to be on alert.

What hours to you use to calculate your pivots? UK 0.00-0.00 ?

Daily pivots are done with data that merges the partial Sunday data with Monday data creating a single Monday bar and a five bar week. Daily Bar open is 00:00 GMT except Monday which is 22:00GMT Sunday.

If you perceive errors let me know.

Good Morning All,

Hope everyone had a splendid weekend. Today's idea is not for the faint of heart and may be downright stupid but what the hey. Live large.

Good Morning All,

The only civilized market left, 10yr US Treasuries caught a bid yesterday against the equity rally.

I'm not suprised considering the $3B prop-up of a major financial institution and the continuing difficulty with obtaining lines of credit. Seems to have usurped the inflation trade, at least where intelligence still exists. Sometimes I think the equity guys just mindlessly follow each other's tail. Who the heck would buy equities on that news? And ooh...Leading Indicators came out positive. All of a sudden Leading Indicators carry weight to fuel an equity rally? Ooh...who grabbed the biggest straw!? No matter, they're all pulling on 'em. The daily chart of the S&P has the equity market looking like its been taken over by a demo server somewhere. The rational top for the S&P is 875.00, but summer's here so they've allowed them to take it into the Bozone layer.

Trendline resistance for 10yr US Notes is still in play Tuesday at 117.0510. Through that 117.38 may cap the day. Support comes in at 116.06, then 115.94/81.

Closed that short idea +2.5% on the trade. Took some heat but remained unconvinced. Looking for a retracement entry into continued weakness.

Good Morning All,

EURUSD - This market cannot find any real interest from sellers. Wednesday's low at .4155 occurred at a remnant Fibonacci level that had enough buying interest to get the market to extend impulsively to .4257. An attempt to sell again found support at .4199 and we sit pretty much where we have been all week at .4232 at 04:30 GMT. Early in the week, technicals suggested we at least look at the lower 4300's possibly getting through to the upside. I just didn't buy it and made 3.75% the past couple days on the short side. Now I'm not so sure. Longer-term technicals are itching to go higher but the shorter-term price picture is not so bullish. They've tried twice and have been repelled firmly in successively lower highs. This doesn't suprise me, but it can't get lower either. The four hour is still in play and you could make a rounding bottom out of the past couple days. I have to look at the daily to get a clear picture and it's bullish to at least .4300 possibly much higher if it goes through .4350. The longer term charts are trying to pull it up. I was all for a bear raid early this week, now I think we should take it higher until something clearer presents itself. Let's get to higher ground and take a look. I favor .4300 tonight possibly getting enough momentum to get to .4500 by Friday. If the bears decide to take control it should be unmistakeable with an initial target of .4100.
Keep an eye on the treasury market.

Sidebar - If you're looking for a bull market take a look at COMEX gold. If it can get impulsive I've got a target of 1033.00. It looks very attractive.

Good Morning All and Happy Friday,

Morning All,

Hope everyone had a fine mid-summer weekend. I can't believe we are in the last week of July already. Summer is way too short.

Gave some back toward the end of last week to close +1.95% for the week.
+11.46% on the current month.
