i wouldn't say multi nics are trolls, trolls know what they are doing and post things intentionally to wind others up

multi nics are real people using t2w as an outlet to seek attention or whatever, but they can't control themselves, and let their disorder shine through sooner or later, so the nic has to be burned and whole process started over. its a compulsive behaviour

Good points, not thought of it that way, they could be separate distinct personality disorders..

yes, there's a hardcore group of loons that try post solely to harm the site, they are identified, or were last time i had access to the info. they can but try, tiresome they are

a mod has to tread i thin line, do you ban on sight or do you try weeding out the extra nick and warning. banning all multinicks on sight imo would have a bad effect on the site and i know for a fact some very popular threads would not have happened had the site taken a harsh line.

for every nick the professional troll posts with they have usually registered 10 to try avoid being banned. or as you say, they hop off down the cafe.

To think as I type this, there may be a guy just got in from work, tried to log in with his new ID created yesterday to have a bit of fun, finds his ip addy banned, does a rumplestiltskin, goes away, licks wounds and comes back again to fight another day..bless..
