So hypothetically what would I need to have a proper bash at this trading lark?

Or I'm looking for the cheapest and most viable way to approach this has I have limited resources and it's a market I've never looked at and know nothing about... maybe I should act hard online like black swan for internet kudos and to tell people that I have "minerals" like his mates :D

Would that make everyone happy?

From personal experience I only really started to engage with the process properly when I went to 1 E-mini contract off $10k as $10k was a meaningful amount of money to start off with FOR ME. Anything I did prior to this was largely fluff (£10 per pt on IG Index) and didn't really push me enough to address behavioural stuff. What I did have at that point though was a desire to trade ES exclusively as I was interested in it so I suppose I had cracked one of the problems of 'What to trade?' Also the "what" is a smaller part of the learning process compared to the "how" now I can look at this with a degree of hindsight.

Truth is, you never stop learning but the transition from -ve to B/E and then B/E to +ve is a long old haul, or at least it has been for me over the last 2.5 years.

You rich yet, Scose? Why dont you try and put DipDash's method into practice and start a joiurnal and post results and stuff daily. That'd be a good read/

F*ck off swan. And I'm waiting to hear from some people. And it's 2 years and 6k posts.

You need to hound thm down really you can't get anywhere like that... would recommend phoning them and generally being a nuisance until they either say no or yes

(this applies to everything else in life, btw... I'm sure even mr minerals will agree with me)

For other learners, bit of background and stuff

I used to have a calender that showed all futures deliveries, options expiries and other such things but I have absolutely no idea where I got it from. If someone could please post one or tell me where I can get it I'd be much obliged.

Also anywhere (not forex factory) I can get a calendar of news releases, economic announcements and things like that. FF has different releases to ransqwauk free and there are even some differences in the figures. :S

scose stop dicking around and get some proper data on a proper platform and get on with it. If you commit your life savings to a brokerage account and start trading off the bad it's doomed.

even just ask one of the fcms for a free trial ffs, you're getting nowhere.

what's that, you crank?

Off the bad?

If this is a broker then I have free trials coming out of my ar$e but what's the use if I cant get decent commissions for a low account balance?

*edit*

As I said I'm waiting for the brokers to get back to me re accounts and I have a trial already that's giving me front month only in bobl bund and schatz. When that runs out in a week I'll get the ones for euroswiss and euribor while I sort out a broker and platform but atm I'm watching and seeing what makes the markets move. I'm in no rush.

So you could have just posted this in the first instance then?

Thought you'd be able to get all this from one source :S

You must understand that I base my posts on the assumption that all y'all are privy to some next level information, dawg.
