Same thing happened to me. I contacted BOM and one of their servers was down. At that time she was had been told it would be another 20 mins before it was back up but i noticed it went down again very shortly after they got it working. Even though I'm only betting tiny amounts at the moment until i have more confidence in PGI, i have still emailed BOM and asked for a refund. Haven't heard anything back yet.

Thanks for that info mate, I was starting to think it was only me or I had done something wrong. I will be very interested to hear how you go with that refund. We can only hope I suppose.

It wasn't just the french market. Bet on Markets had a huge glitch and you were unable to bet for several hours. Not sure when it went back up, I was in bed before it did. I had a reverse bet on the french so luckily won that. The french wouldve won the 2nd. The german wouldve won the 2nd as well but no one could bet through BOM.

Can anyone please tell me what time you received the German alert last night? I received it at 13.53 GMT and the figures below show it didn't win in the 2nd hour by .02. Can you please confirm this as I have received alerts up to 12 hours after they had been sent. Was told it was a fault with my isp, anyone else had this problem??

They arn't asking for double because they are going to make you double. I also dont think that there recent success warrants a premium price ,I was burnt bad , dont know what others think

I certainly wouldn't be paying the first price they give you. And I think i would wait a little longer if I were you and see if the people with the autotrader report that they are getting profits. I too have been burnt bad, and would recommend a great deal of caution before outlaying money.
Having said that, they have certainly improved a lot over the past couple of months from the truly awful performance they have had since i joined, so I am hoping they will continue to do better and i can gain confidence in the system and start placing proper bets to try to get the money back that i lost. Not quite ready to yet though.

just to let everyone know that I received a call from Betonmarkets this evening in answer to my email requesting a refund after the server dropout the other night. Yes, I got a phone call, not just an email response, to let me know that they will refund my money. It has now gone back into my account.
Its only a tiny amount, but i do hope to be making larger bets one day, and its good to know if this sort of thing happens again, they will refund and not just leave us out of pocket on large sums of money.

BetonMarkets have been a bit strange lately. Yesterday they changed so that bets could not be made in the irst 15 minutes of the market opening. The bet returns have also changed and seems to be standard now for only 78% return instead of 88% that it used to be. Considering it was 100% only about a year ago.
I also had this one on the Euro 150 which I rang them about and it was passed onto technical support but i haven't heard back from yet.

Intraday Down: win 400 if Euro 150 Index is higher at 09h10 than at 10h00 GMT on 20-Jan-10.

Good to see things are improving, I have done very little trading since Christmas but plan on starting again next week ( tonight actually).
Checked my BOM account a few days ago and found my statement showed that I had just over 4K in my account, however, my portfilio showed that I had only just over 1k, emailed BOM and they corrected the mistake, the balance is now just over 1k in b oth places???

Saw they recredited my account for the bet cost but not the win amount. Trying to get them to ring which they have done quickly in the past but not tonight it seems
I asked for a refund on the basis that as their servers went down I was unable to follow the progress of the bet and also unable to take appropriate action for the following hour. I had small bets on a number of indexes and was refunded for all of them.
Unfortunately I would have won all my bets in the following hour or so if the servers didn't go down and made a profit, but as it was at least getting the refund of my initial bets meant that I was at least not out of pocket and was the next best thing.

If I were you I would wait a couple of days until BOM has sorted itself out. They have obviously introduced a whole bunch of changes to the system this week without thoroughly testing them first. As a result it is a bit chaotic and they must be trying to fix things on the go. Very strange things are happening and its been very frustrating.
Wait until they get their system working properly.
I had the same thing happen with the dutch index too! clearly a win by my reckoning but they called it a loss and took my money. same strange message too.
I have also emailed them about it and received the reply that it has been passed on to the techies, but as yet no response.
Tonight's win on the dutch index was credited as a win, so they must have worked on it since yesterday. Still waiting for my money from last night though.
Other strange things that have happened:
* Last night I thought a bet was going to lose so I doubled up for the following hour, then it changed direction and was going to win, so I tried to sell the bet at 1 min to the hour, and the system wouldn't let me. I tried 3 times and got a strange message about having to confirm the bet within 120 seconds, but I had placed the bet a full 5 mins before. So I was stuck with the bet, which then won in the following hour anyway, so I haven't bothered complaining. but for the moment I am now a bit wary of placing a follow on bet and relying on being able to cancel it at the last minute
* I was unable to place a bet on the alert tonight for the belgium index as it just kept giving me a strange message that the index was too unstable at the moment. This happened on a couple of other indices too.
As I said above it looks like they have introduced a lot of changes to the system without thorougly testing it first.

The other thing it is doing is continuously increasing the cost of the bet. Tonight on a couple of occassions it increased the cost 3 times before finally accepting the bet!!!
Last night I was betting on the UK index and doubled up 4 times, increasing by more than double each time and getting these price increases all the time. When it finally won in the 4th hour I ended up with a profit of 75 cents.
This constant price increasing eating up all the profit is going to make it difficult to know where you are at in terms of covering costs and still making a profit.
If this continues I think I will start to look for another platform. Has anyone used anything other than Betonmarkets?
