I'm currently using IB for futures, but think I'm paying too much, especially because you start at zero on volume each month, so even if you do say 1200 lots, they will charge you 300 @ 1.60 a side, 700 at 1.31 or so and only then 1.05 or so for last 200. Outrageous.

Is IB flexible ? if so need to find someone much cheaper to beat them down.

What other deals are there, bearing in mind software fees and the like ?

Thanks in advance

Have you tried making contact with someone at IB to discuss a better rate? - might be worth a try.

Thats dear. Depending on your volume here are some starting fees:

Kyte
EUR2.00 / rt plus £500-650 a month platform fee

GNI
EUR2.50 / rt plus £500-650 a month platform fee

Ffasttrade
EUR1.80 / rt plus $550 a month platform fee (clear through Man Financial USA)

All the above are negotiable depending on what sort of volume you do per month though it's going to be hard to get lower deals if you doing less than 5000rt's a month.

Thanks, thats very helpful Calypso

Yes, 1500 rts is about the average at the moment, so not much good for vol discounts.

With the platform fees on the above that makes 1500 about the breakeven point between IB and Kyte/GNI etc.
