Best place in the world to trade?

Tenerife,

Lots of brits have moved there, stable climate, nice all year round. Think it would be my first choice if i could make a stable income from trading, Though, like you mentioned, Dubai would be my second choice, Anywhere but here. ( lake district ) (n)

Lake district, could be worse.

What about Birmingham.

#4 weather - at least 75% sunny and 20 to 30deg all year round

Any suggestions?

August 31st*
Just got transferred with work into our new home in Port Hedland, Western Australia now this is a town that knows how to live!!
Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings. What a place! I watched the sunset from a deck chair on the veranda It was beautiful. I've finally found my home. I love it here.*
*September 13th:*
*Really heating up. Got to 35 today. Not a problem. Live in an air-conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure to see the sun everyday like this. I'm turning into a sun worshiper.

*September 30th:*
*Had the backyard landscaped with tropical plants today. Lots of palms and rocks. What a breeze to maintain. No more mowing lawn for me. Another scorcher today, but I love it here.

*October 10th
*The temperature hasn't been below 35 all week. How do people get used to this kind of heat? At least today it's kind of windy though.
But getting used to the heat is taking longer than I expected.*

*October 15th:
*Fell asleep by the pool. Got 3rd degree burns over 60% of my body.
Missed 3 days of work. What a dumb thing to do. I learned my lesson though. Got to respect the ol' sun in a climate like this.*

October 20th:*
*I missed Kitty (our cat) sneaking into the car when I left this morning. By the time I got to the hot car for lunch, Kitty had died and swollen up to the size of a shopping bag and stank up the $3,000 leather upholstery. I told the kids that she ran away. The car now smells like Wiskettes and cat ****. I learned my lesson though. No more pets in this heat.

October 25th:*
*The wind sucks. It feels like a giant ****in blow dryer!! And it's hot as hell. The home air-conditioner is on the blink and the AC repairman charged $200 just to drive over and tell me he needed to order parts.*

October 30th:*
*Been sleeping outside by the pool for 3 nights now. Bloody $600,000 house and we can't even go inside. Why did I ever come here?*

November 4th:*
*It's 38 degrees. Finally got the ol' air-conditioner fixed today.
It cost $1,500 and gets the temperature down to 25, but the bloody humidity makes the house feel like it's about 30. Stupid repairman. I hate this stupid ****in place.

*November 8th:*
*If another wise **** cracks, "Hot enough for you today?" I'm going to ****in throttle him. ****in heat! By the time I get to work the car's radiator was boiling over, my clothes are soakin ****in wet, and I smell like baked cat!!*

November 9th:*
*Tried to run some messages after work. Wore shorts, and sat on the black leather seats in the ol' car. I thought my ****in **** was on fire. I lost 2 layers of flesh and all the hair on the back of my legs and my ****in ****. Now my car smells like burnt hair, fried ****, and baked cat.*

November 10th:*
*The weather report might as well be a ****in recording. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. Hot and ****in sunny. It's been too hot to do anything for 2 damn months and the weatherman says it might really warm up next week. Doesn't it ever rain in this damn ****in place? Water rationing will be next, so my $5,000 worth of palms just might dry up and blow into the ****in pool. Even the palms can't live in this ****in heat.*

November 14th:*
*Welcome to HELL!!! Temperature got to 41 today. Now the air-conditioner's gone in my car. The repairman came to fix it and said, "Hot enough for you today?" My wife had to spend the $2,500 mortgage payment to bail my **** out of jail for assaulting the stupid ****er. **** Port Hedland! What kind of a sick demented ****in idiot would want to live here?*

December 1st:*
*WHAT????? This is the first day of Summer???? You are ****in kiddin !!!!!

the lake district is very quaint but it rains permanently!

Forget the hot foreign spots imho
Too many bugs and things that bite
The heat can be unbearable every day .
The smell and dirt
Foreign food
Foreign language
Corruption
Anti-foreign elements wanting handouts
Crappy politicians-wanting handouts

No mate be brave step out into the rain occasionally. Really invigorating.

Nowhere more comfortable than my armchair with the stuffing coming out at the corners.

Too many bugs and things that bite yeah bugs suck - literally
The heat can be unbearable every day .just got to adjust to it, I am fine up to 30 deg.
The smell and dirtnot if you are tucked away in a luxury residence and only frequent wealthy areas
Foreign foodeach to his own but I prefer most foreign food, love middle eastern other european, asian, I draw the line at dog though
Foreign language I see it as a challenge to learn to get by in the local language
Corruptionyeah this is worrying and leaves a sour taste
Anti-foreign elements wanting handoutsannoying sure, if you go to a poor country people want to stick you for your paper legally or illegaly
Crappy politicians-wanting handoutsas long I have the paper I can live with it. corruption sucks though

No mate be brave step out into the rain occasionally. Really invigorating. nah, rain sucks, cold grey days in the UK suck

now you are talking, no CGT amazing that's crazy. it's 8 hours ahead so the 7am - 12noon London session would be 3pm - 8pm, man that would be a dream. The wife has a friend who lives there also, another place to check out. I have heard there is virtually no crime either.

Only problem with Dubai is the weather is really really hot for a few months a year. Its got a very low crime rate, you pay no tax on trading profits, good weather for 7-8 months of the year.

Anybody trading in dubai? What the tax position out there? When I build my roll higher I am looking to get a 2nd home out of rainy, miserable overpriced UK. My requirements are:

#1 safe and secure for my wife and kids. I have been to so many amazing places in SE asia but seriously most would not be an option as I do not want to tool up and constantly worry that someone will try and stick me for my paper.

#2 timezone london 7am to midday session must be at a reasonable time of day.

#3 very low taxation

#4 weather - at least 75% sunny and 20 to 30deg all year round

#5 attitude to foreigners - somewhere which encourages foreigners

Not much to ask for lol. For me the UK is great for my family in terms of education, healthcare but the weather really sucks, I am not sure I can do another winter. Plus most brits are a bit miserable its in our genes.

Any suggestions?

I am thinking Dubai. Maybe cyprus, dont know much about it. I get a good vibe about the quiet parts of Ibiza and Mallorca but it can still be quite cold there during winter.

Not the tax question again...........................................

In respect to SE Asia as a base, do others see the time zone as a problem. The New York session would certainly be.

Surely taxation has to be a major consideration? Those considering Spain (including Tenerife) need to remember the high CGT and income tax rates there.

Another concern is obtaining a residency permit for some countries (including Dubai and Singapore).

People complain about the weather here in the UK a lot.
Take today it is 40 degrees F outside with a cold wind but ( I just had a look ) in the conservatory it is 90 degrees F. !!
Build yerself a conservatory young man imho

Bright sunshine here in the West Country and temps in the glass conservatory up to 100 degs F today !!
Beats foreign parts by miles.
