When are t2w gong to realise that lulzmaster traders, scammy vendors and pipe dream fools are the 99.975% demographic for this site?

It's unfair to only cater to the needs of two of the three especially when the one is the only group contributes to quality content.

Like me... The trend has been developed from previous experience.... I created a thread for my own personal reasons (yes a little flippant but i wanted to get straight into it....) and yet I basically got told i was a scam artist... Despite me posting im not offering a service!? Someone made duplicate account and emailed me in an attempt to "catch me out" and when i pm`d back stating i dont charge but would help him for free..... no response.... its not funny when im fairly new to this forum, i could actually contribute and LEARN from some of you experienced traders (inc pazienza!) to then get treated like i`m from another planet JUST because of a previous thread where i was throwing a bit of banter about and was taken FAR too seriously....

I am not coming on this thread to say "good he` gone" because im sure there was something good he could have contributed on my thread, but lets be honest.... he decided not to (or at least with me - as i know he has done a few good threads)

For the record... just because i have 300 posts does not make anyone with 3k posts any more of a better trader than me nor does it give that person the right to talk to me in a condescending/pontificating way JUST because you`ve seen 1000 threads like it before.... All it means is that I am newer (although been reading this forum for a while before i was a member!)....So please do not treat me like i dont know what im talking about.

Trading forums are full of threads similar to that of yours and there is always an agenda.

Oh yes - a most valuable, informative, intellectually sound and rational post bit the dust

Ron Homo begins his post by laughing at the intended recipient, which in the crcumstances is entirely appropriate.

He then goes on to say that he requested a ban (this is factually correct and in no way misleading)

He says he posted multiple images of a pornograpic nature, which again is perfectly true.

He says that he took this course of action, in order to ensure that a ban was forthcoming. I assume he drew this conclusion from an analysis of previous posters who have been banned for similar behaviour (well apart from the exception of the member who came back to run a fraudulant ponzi scheme after T2W's community manager overturned a ban issued after he posted kiddie porn)

He then calls the intended recipient of the post an imbicile, which again, based on available evidence, is a perfectly reasonable conclusion to make. The post is also clearly intended to be mildly offensive, and I would argue that your removal of the post illustrates that this objective was achieved.

The post is informative, accurate, rational and intellectually sound, and met its objective perfectly. You definately cant say that for 99.9999% of the nonsense posted here can you ?

I'm curious, when you were at school and your maths teacher gave you the answer of '4' to the question 'what does 2+2 equal' - how many more times did you ask the same question in the vain hope that you might get a different answer?

2+2 does not always equal 4 In base 4, 2 + 2 = 10. In base 3, 2 + 2 = 11.

You'd be aware of that if you'd have asked your math teacher to explain why 2+2 = 4

Obviously the arithmetic identities arnt violated due to the conversion between bases. However I simply made the point to illustrate how people fall into traps due to the way they percieve the world.

Nicely argued, hare, but you forgot to make the case for "valuable"

There is a serious point to all this which you and scose touch on.

It seems to me that established traders are comfortable with what they do and have no need to discuss their trading and/or their strategy. Thus they have no thirst for trading knowledge and little incentive to use T2W other than to pass the time of day or for a willingness to help others who are not so established.

Traders who are not at that stage do have a thirst for trading knowledge and occupy a huge range from those first dipping their toes in the water to those very nearly "there". Building up their knowledge comes from discussion amongst themselves and help from the more experienced. It's no surprise that this group, particularly at the beginner end, represent a market for vendors (not all of whom are unscrupulous) and herein lies the rub.

Rightly or wrongly T2W's current policy is to tolerate vendors so long as they declare the fact so that people know there may be be a background agenda to their posts and as long as they post things that might be useful to people so far as their trading knowledge is concerned. The alternative of not allowing vendors would mean that a lot of good stuff would be lost and that people might rely on what is being said without realising that there is a hidden vendor agenda (that's before it was found out and we banned them, of course). On balance, I think myself that the "toleration" route is better but it's maybe a debate to re-open.

So far as lulz is concerned, it'd be a dry old place if we couldn't have a bit of a laugh now and then and it has its place - but I'd hate to see T2W as just a lulz playground (even though some threads get to look like that when the mods aren't looking )

But is it wise to make the modz look noobie ? Might you not give them a grudge to take you down on the first minor infraction ?

I am sure all those who got banned found themselves a new home. If you miss them, just try some other trade forums.
