I agree totally... problem is they caused this problem by encouraging wreckless lending and creating an obsession with celebrity to fuel retail.

seems shallow consumerism has increased in correlation with amount of gadety technology... right down to kids toys.
 
yeah so rather than fck them why not tax the living hell out of the people that actually do work and pump money back through the economy......labour. impotent socialist morons.
 
Need to cut benefits for single childless people of work age, cull the population of chavs, and implement a university scheme like china i.e. tell people what theyre going to study instead of letting them choose - better for economy
 
After the election, if they win again, i wouldnt put it past them to increase the current 40p rate to either 45% or even 50%.
 
I reckon we should tax the poor at 70%, lessen it as you go up, will give people incentive to get a decent job earning a decent living and stimulate the economy!

I have never been able to understand why big earners pay a higher rate of tax when they are already contributing more to the Exchequer due to their ability/hard work/large salaries.

In my book, the more you earn, the lower the rate should be seeing as you're contributing more to the economy and supporting the "submerged third". But that would offend our working class socialist mentality. When will our socialist leaders realise that we need people with talent, brains, & high earning power to get us out of the sh!t that our politicians have allowed to accumulate?

Alastair Darling is absolutely the most under rated politician of this generation. A top grade AAA economist and rocket scientist ,destined to go down in history as the man who almost single handedly rescued the UK from the abyss. I am proud to give this man your 50% income in tax.
