I have just received a ridiculous email which told me the following :-

TURN £27.84 into £8,726,467, in 8 months doing nothing,
risk free. And we can prove it!!

It is from an outfit advertising a thing called "2clickinvestor".

Anybody come across this particular Holy Grail ?!!!

I found myself on their website the other day by following some sort of link somewhere (in fact, I think they _might_ even possibly advertise here!). I toyed with the idea of requesting a brochure, but decided against it when I saw the amount of personal information one had to provide in order to request it!

Hi Salty Gibbon, the initial £8+ to £8m statement is not a claim by 2clickinvestor as I read it. Having said that, I came on this site looking to see if anybody had any comments out of 5000 clients. Their site doesn't have any claims of past trades either. From what I can gather, it also only gives signals for BUYS ONLY with trailing stops & the programme is in their beta version.

Have been told by their sales team that the cost of the product in beta is currently £375 + £120 per annum for the data downloads.

Billhooks,
or something that sounds remarkably similar.
Anybody who fancies signing up then please contact me direct, I have several bridges to sell (only the Brooklyn one is currently under offer).
Dave

I bought the 2Clickinvestor tool, with a 30 day money back guarantee, a month ago. I've not analysed the results that closely but everyday it spews out a number of FTSE companies based on technical analysis. The idea is you have to do your own research to determine the best of the crop. Had a long chat with the developer from America who's keen on getting feedback from his users. Apparently a maturer version is available in America, which is, according to him, very successful. He's adding a shorting facility available any moment now and has recently added a "high probability filter", which seems to produce better results. I've had my money back guarantee extended for two weeks from when the shorting facility is added. Hopefully it'll knock out some good ones or I'm going to transfer my investment into the bridge buying business.

As you might be able to tell I'm fairly knew to this trading game. Anyone know of any software tools that work? Or is that a bridge too far.

John

I got a call off them the other day "to confirm my e-mail address" asking if I was interested.

I am currently looking for a filter and charting system for longer term use (rather than using web based charts which suit me at the moment- I use a combination of quote.com/ ft.com- both on a small monthly subscription).

The current 2clickinvestor system currently doesn't do candlestick charting, although they claim that the new version coming out in 2 weeks will have this facility as well as other increased levels of functionality. However, they are currently using the hard sell tactic of stating that this new version will cost £700 + to new customers after it comes out. To existing users (i.e. if I were to buy in the next couple of weeks), the upgrade to the new version will be free.

They do not have a demo version, although they stated they were prepared to offer a 30 day money back guarantee.

My view is that I'm not prepared to part with the best part of £600 (£375 for s/ware + £120 data feed annual subscription + VAT) on the basis of 2 phone calls to the first Joe Blow that comes along, particularly without being able to check out the functionality of the product upfront on, say, a 2 week free trial basis. We'll see what they say when they call again.

This company may very well be "kosher" and have a good product, but they need to understand the best route to establishing an on going business relationship, particularly with new customers. So far, in my view, they have failed to do that.

I spoke to a fellow trader yesterday who told me that he had subscribed on the basis of a 30 day "no quibble" refund policy, and guess what?? 60 days into his subscription, he is struggling to get his money back. They keep extending his refund period and promising a better version of the software is just around the corner, but will not refund the money. I suggested he contact his credit card company and dispute the payment.

Well it looks like I said the right thing to the salesman when he called yesterday then. IE "No... and I wasn't prepared to part with the best part of £600 on the basis of 2 phone calls without being able to see the software upfront or an evaluation copy." I guess he realised he was on a hiding to nothing with me as he didn't try and push it lol!

Just as I feared. I've got them to send me an email agreeing to a two week extension from when the shorting signals are to be added, which hasn't been implemented yet, for what that's worth. Did your fellow trader test the system thoroughly?

I've just sent them an email demanding my credit card be reimbursed immediately. I'm in a hopefully stronger position than him in that I've not had my credit card bill yet and of course won't pay it and will inform them of my reason. Should be interesting to see what happens next.

My friend had a pretty good look at the system over about 3 weeks. It seemed pretty basic to him and added nothing to his trading approach. When I looked at it, it seemed like a very basic black box that any database programmer could build.

My fellow trader who bought the package told me that the only reason he went for it was the promise of a money-back guarantee (and the fact that it was a more secure credit card payment). He told me they'd try ANYTHING not to repay his money.

My advice to anyone would be to steer clear of this outfit until we hear something positive about them!

I sent than an e-mail and followed that with a phone call and received my refund almost straight away. The manager was away for a week but the guy left in charge was very courteous. I explained that I'd decided my trading days were over as my account was depleted, sort of a half-truth, to avoid any argument as to whether the tool would improve, or worked or not. After what you'd told me I was psyched up for quite a tussle but it ended up as an anti-climax. At one stage I thought he was trying to fob me off, probably my mistake, and mentioned that I didn't want to go through dispute proceedings. I'm not sure mentioning that sealed my refund but certainly your friend should try that tac.

As mentioned before, I hadn't paid my bill and had emails from the boss confirming the trial extension, which maybe put me in a stronger position. Why hasn't he gone down the dispute proceedings route? Guess if he's got nothing in writing confirming the trial extension then the issue could comes down to their word against his. Don't know whose side the credit company will side with. Anyway I wish him luck.

Many thanks Tenpro. I passed on your comments - I still don't think they've come forward with a refund. I suggested contacting his credit card company, which he has done.

I had a closer look at the software and found it to be very basic!

Will report back.

Just had an e-mail from my friend to say that his refund has been received, after several threats of legal action, etc.

A happy ending to a sorry tale.

I see this is your first post !
Great - now to prove how great it is please post your trades realtime for all to see.

On a personal note I think this is a big scam as rainmaker found out.
This is a problem with a popular board with a growing number of participants - it also becomes a target for con merchants in search of the greedy or ignorant (using the term in its' proper sense) novice trader.

I don't see that anyone has been scammed. They do always promise newer version round the corner but it does usually turned up. Won't change the world but seems fine to me.Understand product is for some but not others. PS you can get the £120 download monthly if you ask.
PS No review trade set ups today. 20 signals max filter to Buy SLY@ 5.26 & RRS@632

Conned or not?

Well, I "fell" for it. A couple of weeks ago I decided to take the plunge and fork out close to 600 quid, using a credit card of course and a prior email from them saying that there was a 30 day money back guarantee.

So why did I buy with my years of (non-professional) trading and many years of management?

Basically, because I (like many others) am lazy and am looking for a "system" that does all the hard work of finding candidates for me. Of course, it is more than likely a database system (I think Access based) but has anyone tried to specify and pay a professional programmer to write something like that? I have and you will certainly not get much more than a welcome screen for £375.

How does it work? MA crossovers probably are its core.

Does it work?

Yes, so far. A brief resume:

10 May 4 signals all showing a good point gain

11 May 8 signals, as above

12 May 22 signals. 15 gainers, 3 did not hit the entry signal, 4 trading but not in profit nor at stop

16 May 3 signals 2 gainers 1 did not hit entry

17 May 3 signals 2 gainers 1 did not hit entry

18 May 4 signals 3 gainers 1 did not hit entry.

Note that the above uses their filter “all signal metrics green” and prices as of 19 May.

I am sure there are plenty of people that will criticise 2click saying the interface is quirky (yes it is) and that it does not offer anything new (for sure not) and that it is a beta version (yes it is) but if a system finds candidates for me and continues with the above results then I will not be asking for my money back.

Before I get flamed as a 2click salesman or as a newbie with no experience please let me point out that I have been trading as a hobby for many years and for the past 2 years it has been a more or less full time. Coupled with that I have almost 30 years of hands on commercial management experience.

All I will say is give them a fair trial before condemning them.
