Hi,

First off I have read all the threads here (some several times) and the broker pages that people always link. To be honest there really seems little consensus.

I have to say that I am tempted by the 1 point spread Worldspreads offer on the DAX. Of course the reality is if you can't get filed tight spreads count for little.

How are things with this outfit if you are not on refer to dealer? Theres A long thread on that, apart from the original posters fairly positive report I am finding it hard to get a handle on them.

If I place a limit within a tick or two of the days high/low and the underlying market trades throught it (even briefly) will most platforms take my bet?

How about on a breakout ? If price trades through my entry stop (can I even use stops for entry I wonder?) and there are trades going off at all levels will I be filled anywhere near where i expect? Obviously big news breakouts are tricky but on 'regular' ones how are things?

I dont really scalp but I do go in and out and roundabout at the edge of the market while I try and get positioned. Of course these are the areas that are thin and choppy and I guess thats where bookie and punter are gonna have disagreements. Also seems like the shorter your time frame the more likely that arguments will ensue?

I have had expereince with deal4free (CMC) years ago when they first introduced CFD's. Actually made a good bit of money from them ultimately they made it impossible (ultra wide spreads and evrything across a dealers desk). I am tempted to have another go now the market is more mature just wonderng whether to wake up my CMC account or try these worldspread guys out.

Its tough to evaluate as there seems to be many detractors regardless of the firm. As I said, I have read all the threads here some twice and still cant seem to find any concensus that such and such are less of a bunch of bandits than the others.

Any tips for who to check out for betting fairly short term time horizons? i.e. quick accurate and reliable?

Cheers.
Nick

E*Trade.
I have accounts with almost every SB company out there and E*Trade are the best.
Spreads are lower than anyone else I have found on almost everything I trade plus they are reliable and honest.

Hehe that illusrates another issue and that is how things change over time. Last I looked E*Trade where just starting into betting and not having a particularly outstanding reputation for there brokerage bussiness. I'll check em out.

Cheers.
