A belief is almost worthless unless it is grounded in fact. How many have you actually followed, taking;

a) A statistically valid number of trades
b) Following every single rule down to the letter

...and still lost money with?

Don't get me wrong, there are many charlatans out there, I am not disputing that. However, the majority of the people that mouth off about systems and sellers and methodologies have never done either of these things.

Whats wrong with having multiple streams of income? If you have something that works AND you can sell it to generate additional money I see nothing wrong with that. Too many people have a strange perception of life just because they had a bad experience. Do you think the guy who invented the gumball machine would make millions just buy selling a few gumballs by himself? No, instead he also sells the machines. Now he has 2 sources of income.

That being said, yes, there is a load of cr*p out there so one must use some discretion before buying.

Sorry for the rant. These type of statements irk me sometimes.

Peter

I dont even follow my own rules all the time never mind someone else's so you have a good point.

Having said that I have yet to see a system seller that is totally honest in terms of providing a track record, they all seems to fall apart when you really look into them.

I'd like to think there are some systems out there that work but I have yet to find one.

And what price will the ordinary punter pay for them?Copies of the seller's system will be made faster than the seller can get a dime for his effort. What are the chances finding one?ZERO.

Sounds great! How much are you selling your educational material for?

another possibility is that as a trader evolves, his/her trading plan/strategy changes over time.
an old, discarded idea may be easily offered for sale, or freely disclosed, in the knowledge that the better, current idea is secret.
for example, an old idea may well generate 20 pips a day, but a newer, undisclosed system may generate 35 pips a day. you get the idea.

indeed, a trader may well post pics of a trading plan :whistling, but with altered settings. this allows to offer the general flavour of an idea, without revealing anything specific.

this means that ideas for sale, from a genuine trader, may well be profitable, but not as profitable as the current, secret rule-set. this does not apply to marketeers, who are not traders, merely salespeople.

I love the default cynicism T2W seems to engender :cheesy:, but there are degrees of shade rather than just black and white.

Systems do have two uses (from the noob's point of view):

First, they get you started, which is probably more difficult than most people remember.

Second, they (hopefully) make you realise that trading is like anything else. There's no system or magic bullet - you have to work hard and find your own route.

Agree with that. I just don't see how you can trade someone else's system with any confidence. If it loses 20 in a row, do you stick with it? Maybe you should, maybe you shouldn't, but how can you possibly believe in it when someone else has designed it.

Well to answer the first thing, the reason good teachers sell their programs is because they are paying attention to teaching their students. So they can't make as much money trading since they miss alot of trades due to teaching.

Then again I only know of one teacher who has a greater success rate than other teachers while teaching, and trades alongside his students live in a webinar. Plus his price is substantially lower than most teachers who only provide you with past trades that they've recorded.

Yes this is a shameless plug, but it's also a little lesson too. Just because one guy screws it up for you doesn't mean they're all bad. You just haven't found the right teacher. And only one way of doing things doesn't work for everyone. Getting the basics helps alot, but figuring out the intricacies yourself is much more rewarding.

The teacher I learn from doesn't hide trades, he calls them as he sees them. He also teaches while trading. So hes busy doing two jobs at once. If he were to not teach anyone, he would do fairly well, but he doesn't want to see other fail miserably. His time has value though. He can't just give away what he's learned on his own for free. Even so, his price is a fraction of what other teachers ask. What do you say to $2000 for a lifetime membership as opposed to $10,000+ for a membership and you don't get half the training.

If you don't believe me, and are interested in futures trading, you can visit -

I've mentioned in another thread that I will provide links to those interested in viewing a free information webinar when it comes up.

So, before you become emotional about losing trading methods, make sure you've looked down every alley first.

Plus I dont see any verifiable track record. Also he makes reference to being one of the worlds top 5 FX traders as stated by - if you look at that website it wouldnt inspire confidence.

Probably a bad thread title to spam in anyhow

Possibly, possibly not.
Post #1 (poster with 1 post to his name plus vendor tag) sets up the straw man.

Post#16 (poster with 4 posts to his name plus vendor tag) knocks it down, and by the way here is a _real_ trader/teacher, and here is his URL.

And you wonder why we get cynical.

We already have the three stooges performing later on TV tonight.
We don't need any more thanks.

"A.C.E. Anticipate, Confirm, Execute." - good one. The firing squad is this way ----->

LOL, now that made me laugh!
Love the 3 stooges

Well, what I always say is don't knock it til you rock it. And $300 to $600 daily is easy.

I'm serious, when the next webinar comes up I'll post the link and you guys can come see for yourselves.

Then maybe you won't be so hoity toity.

Oh, and before you think this is another one of those epic threads where post troll ends up pwning himself, I have to mention that I've been a member of the forum for a while. I actually came here to find out more information about futures a couple months back. Just recently partnered up with Simon, as he lives right by me anyway. Friend of the family.

I just saw this as an opportunity to say that you can't just go knocking everyone 'cause you got the short end of the stick in a deal.
