This contributes a lot to the forum.

Many thanks for your contribution.

:LOL::LOL::LOL:

Ad, love it, leave it or change it.

Changing it is in your power by contributing a thread that constitutes quality in your eyes.

Just yaggling around won't change the world.

Leading by example can.

It's no different to the rest of the world - 50% of what's out there is horse-manure (and even that has its uses:LOL:). Your job is to pick out the good stuff.

Have to agree with the OP (and sure yes maybe there does need to be some ownership taken on).

But I can remember when I first found t2w all those years back, there was little of the negative atmosphere that seems to be prevalent these days. Resulting in for myself (and for most of those traders whom I skype with), now, just staying in the background and refraining from posting.

Thinking about what has changed, after all you're only talking about 5 years or so, and I reckon one of the reasons is the proliferation of spread betting and spread betting companies, competing and allowing anyone to trade, as long as they can come up with the princely sum of £100. Or even demo is apparently possible nowadays. This has then created a huge surge of newbies (no problem with this), but with them has followed the 'messers', the 'get rich quick brigade' and the 'gamblers'. This latter group have no real interest in learning and studying the 'how to' and putting in the hard work. They have no real work ethic I would guess at all, and instead, very quickly start derailing, presumably thinking its funny.

I would guess also the age profile has likewise taken a real nosedive, as again, this would make sense, and would fit in with the maturity levels been witnessed on the forums these days. But age is no excuse at all. Myself in my 40's, skype with a group of people who among them have a couple of guys in their 20's, and who don't participate in the ridiculuous nonsense going on in t2w. Instead, they take their trades and road deadly seriously. It is indeed sad to see how t2w has gone down despite the best efforts of some of the mods.

I was lucky to have joined t2w when it was a different place. Unfortunately, though it is now what it is, and the ones that really lose out are the newbies that are serious about understanding trading and come here to learn and for guidance.

Take it seriously enough but play it lightly is all I can say.

Anyone who has ever been on a bank trading or exchange floor will readily agree that those places may be all kinds of things, but locales of great sobriety and seriousness they most definitely are not.

If anything they have more resemblance with a boisterous group of highly excited college kids out on a party weekend or spring break.

It's jokes, sex, sex, some more sex,and then some jokes inbetween just to round things off, and then pretty rapidly back to sex again.

Oh yeah, and in between they rake in some money.

But sitting there pompously with the weight of the world on their shoulders ?

Not any trading floor I have ever seen.

Gamma Jammer, your guys sit there like that, all serious and quiet ?

If you care so much why did you p*ss of to a skype forum instead of sticking around to help newbs and to fuel intelligent conversation like some other more experience members have? Because you got what you wanted and then f-ed off.

What I don't get.

AD starts a thread saying the place is going downhill because for example there aren't any set-up threads anymore.

Well heck, if you miss that, why not just go ahead and start one ???

The logic kinda beats me.

Negativity nobody likes nor needs, but what is specifically stated as being lacking here as an example is surely easily amended by just getting up and doing it yourself ???

If you want to help, then help...i agree with what your saying in principle vegas, but it is hard to see who is actually putting in the hard work if you see what i mean...it isn't so clear who is part of the "get rich quick brigade" and who isn't. Often a quick judgement is made, this works in most instances but not in all.

Nonetheless i agree it has gone downhill but relative noobs can do little about this, the posts (most of them) still remain though and i have learned a lot from going through these old posts...but they are just posts and they aren't dynamic or interactive enough to learn as fully from them. Guidance is hard to find these days...

Precisely. This place needs moar lulz not less.

It says you never answered. You're quick to complain but you where's your contribution to rebuilding t2w from its sad state, Mr Background?

I'm not that quick....as I have'nt posted for awhile.....

Think I should let those who have +2000 posts do the rebuilding cos with that sort of activity they gotta be the business !!

Trash talk... really? And that's not an answer mate tbf. What's this big fascination with number of posts anyway? Do you think I care whether you or anyone else thinks I post too much? I swear this site is like f_cking Mean Girls sometimes. You're as bad as Mr Charts.
