We at DPTG are looking for experienced traders to join our office in Dubai. We have an excellent infrastructure and a core of experienced futures traders. We are looking to expand and may be able to back traders if they have the required trading records. Look forward to hearing from you guys in this tax free paradise.

At least people moving to Dubai won't struggle to find a flat to rent or buy :)

islamic culture pervades daily life - restrictions on booze, foodstuffs etc not to mention call to prayer outside your window 5 times a day, no matter what shift you're working
intolerable heat in summer
unpleasant humidity in autumn
soaring rents
horrendous traffic jams
construction site everywhere
expensive wine, beer etc

hmmmm, not my idea of paradise.....and before you kick off, yes i do know what i'm talking about, i lived there for 10 years

So why did you live there then? Iv been there twice and enjoyed myself but like you, I couldn't live there.

when i first went there, I used to say that there was nowhere else on earth i wanted to live, i loved it !
but it changed over time, particularly the last couple of years.
in my opinion, it all started to go downhill with the relaxation of the real estate laws, which opened the floodgates to speculators, rogue developers etc

Tricks of the trade

Asked to picture a City trader, and many would conjure up images of brash, hard-working-hard-playing characters bedecked in loud jackets and equipped with even louder voices. However, we're a far cry from New York circa-Gordon Gekko, and the gentlemen tasked with providing the Middle East's first trading hub for both professional and new traders don't appear to be the sort to raise their voices unnecessarily.

Dubai Professional Trading Group (DPTG) is a joint venture between a team of experienced Dubai-based market professionals and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), a Government of Dubai initiative. It's an attractive prospect too - members will be able to trade across the world's financial markets, enjoying globally competitive rates, a zero tax infrastructure and first class trading arcade facilities.

Ours is not an online or theoretical trading course — it’s run by experienced traders who have a track record in making money."We want to attract traders to come to Dubai and to bring some liquidity to the local markets, which are relatively new, yet offer a lot of opportunity," explains James Hume, Chairman of DPTG.

:D

There is no fee for the course as the sole purpose is to train the individual to become profitable. However, a minimum deposit of US$50,000 paid into an escrow account will be required for future margin requirements.

"We're only looking for active traders, and anything less than a US$50,000 minimum deposit would probably identify someone as not being a full-time active trader," explains Benedict Floyd, executive director at DPTG. "Our training course is fairly unique in the fact that it's run by experienced traders. It's not an online or theoretical training course - it's run by experienced traders who have a track record in making money.

why would you need to do a training course if your a "full time trader with a min of 50k".fannys

I'd like a 50K a month guarantee, 4 free apartments, (don't know what I'd do with 3 extra empty ones, but neither do most of the fook wit buy to let speculators who bought out there over the last three years) and I'd like 5 italian/german cars, there's enough to choose from at the airport, according to a mate of mine who flies out there regularly, cars are geting dumped at the airport as Brits flee with just the **** barely left in their kecks and 200 quid credit on their last credit card...

I'd keep it simple, In return I'll bag 'em 500 pips a day, want backing of 500 quid a pip and want 40% of that profit on top of the guarantee; which must be paid in advance each month...
:D

That is very true, unlike London where property is booming!!!....Your point being what?

There wasn't one.

Just love to watch from afar the property implosion in Dubai.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of rulers.

Sure, property prices were overdone here, but now they are affordable for most people. Thats a good thing right??

If you lived there for 10 years you must have liked something? Your opinions are harsh to say the least. 'Islamic culture prevails everywhere': I have never heard anything so ridiculous. Alcohol and Pork (I assume you mean) are readily available. If you do not want to bend your lifestyle slightly for the customs of the country you are living in then don't move out of your own. If you are trading international markets your working day would be 12-9 so you would not hit any traffic at all! Rent prices have plummeted over the last 6 months by about 30% due to a much needed correction in the housing markets.
We moan about intolerable heat in the summer in Dubai and then we moan about rain in london! Are we ever happy. I understand peoples opinions vary but to live there for ten years Dubai must have done something right!
Everyones paradise varies i suppose, however after 3 years in Dubai I couldnt be happier.

and last week the dubai govt declared it illegal for companies to lay off local ragheads because of the recession !

can you imagine the fuss that would cause in the "real" world ?
