Good move, John :)

This means that if McCain croaks (probably 20% chance) she will be the boss, and they say Barack isn't ready to lead ...I think the Obama campaign could leverage this one.

It's worth noting that she is the only Pres/VP candidate in the mix here who actually has any executive office experience at all. In other words, she's actually done some leading of people and organizations whereas all the others have just represented.

Has she been a leader though or does she just have "executive office experience"?

I watched Glenn Beck's interview with her. He is the type of person that Sarah Palin should avoid.

If he had his way Alaska would be turned in to another Houston, Texas. Is that what Alaskans want?

Well, it's their state and they are not a backward people, unable to think for themselves. I shall never go there to see it for myself, afterwards, and that goes for millions of others who are only interested in keeping their fuel prices low. So what it looks like, afterwards, is no skin off my nose. All this has to be very carefully controlled, or multinationals will take everything and just leave the hole in the ground , and worse, just like Exxon did.

To get back to her, my wife mentioned to me this morning, that she thought that McCain look a worn out wreck, in comparison. Age tells and as TWI notes, he is likely to leave her, and us, with her in the top job. I'm 76 and consider myself very fortunate, healthwise. I would not take on his job, though, it's too much for most septuagenarians.

My opinion is that he has been selected by the energy lobby and she, who would not have won the presidency on her own, is the real hope for the them.

Just my horrible, devious, mind? Well, if George Bush was not the energy lobby's choice, I'll eat my hat!

So, really, do we want him or Obama? My choice has changed to the latter.

For an American reading this, I 'm British, so I don't have a vote, but I do have an interest in who's in charge over there!

Lots of rumours floating around the internet that her 5th child is not hers but belongs to her 17 year old daughter Bristol:

Bristol Palin Pregnant - Alleged Sarah Palin New Mccain VP Pick Pregnancy Cover Up

Bristol was impregnated by a certain W.J.C*****n as a deliberate part of a policy to discredit Sarah's candidacy.
You too can read it in next week's National Enquirer after I've told them.

Also Obama is the spawn of E.T. who returned to earth to change the world and has been having a "close" relationship with Elvis in their hideaway in the Blue Mountains.

I don't understand the fuss between the Republicrats and the Democans. No difference really.

Just sock puppets.

Seems this woman is just another death loving Jesus hypocrite and gun loving whacko so typical of all that is wrong about the US under her equally like minded fellow citizen Bush these days.

Conservative Republican prayers for the November 4 presidential election may have been answered. John McCain's choice of Alaska governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate sends a clear message to the party's conservative religious base: God and guns are on the ticket.

If that ticket should win which I don't believe as I cannot imagine a majority in the US will want a continuation of the current Jesus / Cowboy ticket for another 4 years of yet more of the same, but if against all odds idiocy wins one more time in teh US it'll just be an accelaration of the US hurtling into international irrelevancy, and we in Europe will just have to start finding ourselves another partner.

God and guns :LOL::LOL::LOL:

Bible belt and death penalty eh, the evil, vengeful insanity is just mind boggling.

I came across this link this morning. Seems to think much the way I do.

Press TV - Palin: Big Oil's new champion

What is it with Americas whackos that they are always in a constant denial of reality ?

Fron your link:

"Even as late as May 2008, McCain was saying that tapping America's coastline for the nation's energy needs would be an inefficient waste of time.

But by June, McCain had put his energy policy into a very different gear and began to call for the federal government to lift restrictions on America's own reserves.

"As a matter of fairness to the American people, and a matter of duty for our government, we must deal with the here and now, and assure affordable fuel for America by increasing domestic production."

This, despite a recent study by the US Energy Information Administration which found that "access to the Pacific, Atlantic, and eastern Gulf regions would not have a significant impact on domestic crude oil and natural gas production or prices before 2030."

LOL !

Been promptly brought to heel by corrupt Big Oil, the sponsor of the US terror attack on Iraq, all they are achieving with such short sightedness is contributing to their countries irrelevance by demonstrating their ignorance.

Hi Marcus,

Much as I am pro-Europe, I am seeing the serious problems that we have as a multi-linguial community with no joint foreign policy. I do not see Europe as anything other than a good looking call girl trying to please everyone at once and not getting paid for it!

Hi Split,

my intention wsn't to turn this into a beauty contest between the US and the EU, both have their good and their bad, I just really hope that Obama wins so that the US can start concentrating their energies once again on being an agent of good in the world again and for a very welcome change from the last 8 years.
