It's just a sop to the masses. The petition demanding Gordon Brown's resignation got taken down. Economics and the markets will always override the people and the politicians despite political gimmicks such as these.

It's a load of boll0cks CV.

There was a bit of fuss about forcing MPs to vote on restoring hanging for example. They can vote as much as they want, they've got no power to do anything about it.

Just another gimmick.
