Does anyone think an MFE degree helps in trading?

I looked at the Master of Financial Engineering program from UC Berkeley. Looks like it is all about building models for trading. So what do you guys think?

I suspect that nowhere else does the saying 'Those that can do and those that can't teach' apply more than to trading.

If any of those university guys really knew anything worth knowing about economics and markets, they wouldn't be driving around in the sort of cars they drive.

Then why do hedge funds and investment banks pay $150k per year to hire them?
