mobile alerts for stock updates

Is there such a thing as mobile alerts available in the UK of the DJIA, Nikkei etc?
I am new to this but, think this would helpful to investors 'on the go'.
Thanks for any input.............

igindex have just introduced this (SMS or e-mail). You would of course need an ig account but wouldn't need to actually trade it.

Also, Orange mobile users used to be able to get this for indices and shares. I have been on another netweork for a couple of years so unsure if its still available: I thnk it was about 20p per text?
