Hi
I am a new forex trader been doing it for couple of months and making mistakes. I wish l had a mentor to teach me and explain on how to analyse pairs.
I am looking to learn and become better and make trading friends based in the UK. My goal is to change my life and become a full time trader and buy a home for my kids.(y)

Hi Fx2 I'm not a mentor but been trading 10 years so have been around a bit. I think the first question you need to answer for yourself is what type of trader are you?

Do you prefer sitting at a screen for say a 6 or 8 hour shift trading either scalping(which I wouldn't recommend) or day trading on a 5 or 15 min chart or do you prefer using a longer time frame and checking the markets maybe every hour or every 4 hours or just once a day, Which specific markets interest you? do you want to specialise or trade multiple markets? This is one you have to figure out and can only really be discovered through trial and error. Once you have figured out what type of trader you are or want to be then you can set about learning strategies and tech analysis etc

I would recommend studying the work of Al Brooks for short term trading you can find his videos here: https://www.youtube.com/user/BrooksPriceAction I'd start here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU3VM87eBAg&t=313s

For longer term trading go check out the videos of the guys at tradeforexforprofit videos here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQhIfy9tK2j5WJJ5DG7xghw/videos?spfreload=1 They have a solid strategy and a great PnL history

Your goal is admirable but the road is long and hard you must have deep personal resources and an utter determination to succeed. I'm sure other traders can point you in other directions but the 2 schools of trading above are about the best I've come across in my 10 years of study. I use neither but incorporate elements of each. Successful traders develop their own unique style suited to themselves you just need to find yours. Wish you all the best

I prefer trading on 5 and 15minutes charts but still not good on it.Do have any videos l can watch to learn more or good books to read. I like shorter trades.

Keep your day job even if its flippin burgers and trade longer time frames until you are consistently profitable.

Be careful when you are finding trading information on Youtube. Look for traders who share their live account information (MyFXBook or something similar) and see how long the account has been active. There is a lot of really great information out there, but a lot of bad information is floating around.
