I haven't got Martin Pring's stuff, although I've looked at it quite a bit. If you are new to trading and think that technical analysis is the way for you I would recomend "technical analysis for dummies", it's a great book for beginners and it'll put everything into the proper context so that you can decide what type of analysis suits you best.

Aside from that, if I'm recomending books, then you have to get a copy of "reminicenses of a stock operator" by Edwin Lefevre. It won't tell you how to trade, but it's one of those books that will help you in so many other ways that it will be a far more valuable read in the long run than any book on a particular method of analysis.

I hope this helps

P.S. I have a huge library of trading books now, and I can honestly say that the books aren't worth anything without hard work and a lot of time spent actually practicing. But it's worth it in the end.
