Yahoo EOD Data

I'm using a package called EZquote (there are many around) that download EOD data from Yahoo. I have two questions about this data:

1. Why does weekly data only become available on Monday? Is this something to do with Yahoo or EZQuote? I like to study the charts at the weekend, but given I can't get the latest weekly data until Monday - I have to wait till then before making trades?

2. How can I get commodity data such as gold/oil, in one joined up data sequence? It makes it hard to analyse commodities without this.

...Get a reliable supplier, not only data will be more accurate, but you will have it when you want it...
