WSJ vs. FT

I'm learning all I can about the forex market but I've not decided whether it's worth subscribing to the WSJ or the FT in order to get news about large events that affect the movement of currency pairs.

Has anyone else subscribed to either paper and found the content enhanced your ability to trade forex?

Or do you get forex news from somewhere else?

Any advice appreciated - thanks :)

They are both essentially a pile of utter sh1te.

However, they can still be useful. Learn to think for yourself, and develop a sceptical eye. Focus on facts and fundamental conditions, not rumours or opinions.

If you can do that you might find them helpful. If you read them like most people do, with their tongue sticking out the side of their mouth and their finger trailing under the words, you will eventually find that they are both essentially a pile of utter sh1te.

For once I can agree with pazzy. In fact I can go further: The FT is printed on "pink" paper for a reason.

Thanks guys, appreciate the advice.

As mentioned, though, these sources can be useful if you're using them as a way to hear about events (rather than following their rumor or advice word for word). If you guys don't read either, where do you go for forex related news?

For example, the MoF recently selling ¥ - where would I have heard about that before it become common knowledge? You guys must use some kind of news channel for discovery of these sorts of things?

Thanks again.

WWW.forexfactory.com or www.fxstreet.com.
I could give you other words on the street sites but I would get banned

Forget that. If it's in either of those, it's already common knowledge. You will never get news in advance.

Thankfully, you don't need to :).
