A friend of mine, (that old chestnut) really....Is selling his shares of a LTD company he set up, to a PLC company. He is getting a cash deal but they have offered him a part shares-part cash deal as well. On the face of it the shares are attractively discounted to what the price of the actual share is at the moment.
Some of the concerns I have:
a, the PLC (buyer) is new and listed on AIM and does not have much Volume daily, how will he sell his shares if there is no volume?
b, Is it true, if there is no volume on any given day, will he not be able to sell the shares-on that day, or will a market maker/ broker buy them? (or is it much more complicated)
c, if one day he wants to dump all his shares which is much more than the average daily volume, what is the likely to happen then.
