Who said "the universe is friendly"?

I'm sure there was a well known trader who said something about whether the universe was friendly or not ( he concluded it was). I can't remember the quote at all well or where I read it. It may have been in Market Wizards 1 or 2, though a quick scan hasn't found it.

Does it ring any bells for anyone?
