Hello!

I would like to invest $260 per month in a mutual fund which would predominantly invest in stocks. Since there are no index funds yet available here in Slovenia, I have to choose one of the "regular" funds. Entry fees are generally set at 3% per payment and management fees are usually between 2% and 2,5% per year. All funds reinvest their dividends.

There are about 215 funds available to invest in and I´m not sure, which fund would be the most suitable for such a long period. I should probably avoid specialised sector funds. If eliminating those, I´m left with geographically separated funds, which are categorised as: "South, Middle and Eastern Europe", "Europe", "Asia", "Pacific Regions", "China", "Japan", "Emerging Markets", "South America", "Emerging Markets", "Slovenia" and "Global Equities."

I am thinking to invest in one of the funds, which invest in the entire Europe region. The second preffered option would be one from a "Global Equities" category fund. Benchmarks for one that I particularly like (NLB World Stock) are MSCI Europe Net 42,75%; MSCI North America Net 38%; MSCI Japan Net 7,125%; MSCI Pacific Free ex Japan Net 7,125%;

I would be prepared to invest in Asian funds too, but I´m not sure, if there are any substantial potentials over USA or Europe. The story surrounding emerging countries is good, but I´m not sure if Asian markets offer equal long-term "stability."

Well, I would appreciate your thoughts and opinions about my dilemma :)

Thanks and have a great day!

Thanks for your reply. I´ve already decided to invest in a fund which covers "Top 30" dividend paying companies located in Europe. I believe this to be a good long-term choice.
