Two reasons:

1) Most people in a particular forum on this site are using this program,

2) It saves having to open an account with Tradestation to use the charting software.

Why buy an old, unsupported program that ceased development ten years ago?

MultiCharts is very similar to TS2000, uses easylanguage and has numerous improvements as well as ongoing support.

MultiCharts is very similar to TS2000

Multicharts may be a good alternative to Tradestation but it cannot do what Prosuite can particularly with Radarscreen which is an integral part of what many of us use for trading.

I dont use the radarscreen functions in TS at all, so I dont really know anything about the differences, though I understand MC added a stock scanner in the last upgrade. Whether its comparable or not though, I couldnt say.
