US stocks fell on Tuesday after three days of gains as German GDP figures came in disappointingly low, fueling concerns about a global slowdown and also weighed down by weak US housing data.

However, Wall Street indexes trimmed part of the initial losses as US production surpassed market expectations and Fitch affirmed US AAA rating with stable outlook.

The Dow Jones industrial average drops 69 points or 0.61% at 11,413. The S&P 500 Index falls 10 points or 0.85% at 1,194. The Nasdaq Composite loses 24 points or 0.95% at 2,531.
