McCain took a huge gamble under the guise of being helpful but ended up turning off members of his own party who realized his grandstanding and lack of knowledge about the actual content of the bailout was dangerous. He has made himself look desperate, foolish and ineffective,even to members of his own party! Most of whom are now trying to distance themselves from him lest they be pulled down into his black hole of ignorance. Pressure is great from taxpayers phoning and e-mailing their congressmen/women to not agree to the bailout. Congress has done an inadequate job of explaining the plan, what it fixes,who benefits and ultimately who pays for it. The majority of America is struggling themselves and see a pay out to those who are viewed as withering from their own greed as outrageous.
