I'm currently short on WHSmith and went long on BP yesterday. Surprised that BP didnt rise today. Looking at going long on Shell as well.

Any views?

If you post your charts and say why you entered your positions, where you have your stops, where you've marked your target, someone will probably come around to give you their opinion.

For what it's worth, my broker reckons that because of Shell's restructuring, institutions will have to buy Shell to balance their portfolios, and BP may dip in the short term.

i agree. thereagain shell has been subject to profit taking now, so I've gone short on BP and Shell in the short term and long on Aviva (should be good results tomorrow). Tip for everyone, go long on Kenmare Resources. This will be at least 50p next summer.....!
