USA Forum

Through all that, all you picked up on was Austria. Ludwig von Mises was born in the Lemburg, Austria-Hungary. The Austrian school of economics is named after an Austrian. It seems to me like Austria does have something to do with this. Although upon reading part of the article, it reminds me of someone.

Ayn Rand
...

Its not the first time you've quoted Ayn Rand, but what place does she have on the USA forum? Firstly, she's a Russian. She was very publicly anti religion and yet 87% of the USA population declare themselves to be of a religious denomination. So the vast majority of Americans dont think shes right. Plus her own brand of philosophy 'Objectivism' has been ignored or rejected by philosophers. So unless you think you can treat her views like a pick 'n' mix sweet counter and just choose the ones you like and ignore the ones you don't then she's not someone to base your ideals on.
Do you have any ideas of your own? Nah that would require you to think for yourself.

She is a Russian American first of all. As an American philospher of economics I think she fits in nicely.

You guys love fallacies here. Just because she is anti-religion does not mean it is illogical to support her ideas. That is an ad hominem fallacy. Being religious and capitalist are not mutually exclusive. Expounding upon that, Americans can support her philosophies whilst being religious. You are confusing being conservative with being Republican. There are republicans who are not conservative and in fact there are Democrats who are conservative. That is a key flaw in your thought process.

Where did you come up with your figures? Wikipedia :LOL::LOL:

So how exactly did you come to the conclusion that "the vast majority of Americans don't think she's right"? It cannot possibly be that you think it is due to her anti-religious views.:LOL::LOL:

Who specifically has rejected objectivism? I would like you show sources asserting that claim without using Wikipedia.

You are throwing the baby out with bathwater just like @Pat494. :smart:

As for that last part, it is apropos as you have not stated any real ideas. You have only delighted yourself in mudslinging. You have not posited a single logical non-fallacious argument ever.

I pick ideas from many people. That is called thinking for yourself. It is not cherry picking. Cherry picking refers the fallacy, which you will not be able to tie in here.

Two points.

The biggest capitalists in the world by far are bankers.
The Muslim religion forbids charging interest on money.
The Jewish religions forbid charging interest to other Jewish people.
And the Christian religion didn't allow it until Calvin came along and said we've been reading the bible wrong for 1500 years and it's ok really.
So if that view is yours its naive at best and just plain stupid at worst.

People do not stick to one ideology, they DO pick and chose which bits of religion, philosophy and politics they want to follow and ignore the rest, its called being human. So I put it to you that NO ONE is a true capitalist.

You still haven't responded to anything I wrote. Don't say something and scamper off and come and say something else unconnected.

Where did you get your information for the previous post?

How does this statement about religion relate to capitalism. You still have not drawn a proper relationship between them.

Secondly, "being human" is not a logical argument regardless of human beings' illogical behaviors.

Never heard of her. Probably one of Mrs. T's clones ?

Just as well Calvin did because JC had a habit of chucking money on the floor. He was an anti capitalist in extremis.

Everyone knows the US is hopeless at Foreign Policy. For all those trillions spent in the Middle East what have they achieved for the West or perhaps more importantly for the people living there ?

Answer complete chaos and anarchy.

And why ?

Answer:-
Their big mistake when deposing Saddam Hussein was to sack all the administration and army personnel because they were Sunnis and try and replace them with Shia, who had no experience. So the administration fell apart and the army fled on day 1.

The only beneficiaries are the Israelis. Their major enemies Iraq and Syria are in ruins. The US allies came out of it badly too with huge debts and hundreds of soldiers killed. Cameron is keen to repeat the same mistake in Syria. Thankfully Corbyn isn't so gung ho.

And who are ISL ? They are organised by the disgruntled Sunnis who the US sacked.

If the past is anything to go by ad Chumpy will ignore the facts and be back in his mental dugout of ad hominem rubbish.

The US blatantly uses Mafia tactics as an excuse for a foreign policy.
If the country is divided then there is usually one faction who will take US bribes e.g. the army in Egypt, the Shia in Iraq etc.
If the group is aggressive to the US then bring in force and try and beat them into submission e.g. ISL. Al Quaeda, Taliban etc

Carrot and stick

Did the trillions spent make many friends ?

It is estimated...in the region of double figures. The army of thousands that they thought they had created in Syria turned out to be only four strong ! Pure fantasy worthy of Hollywood.

I would say you have lost an argument big time, when you avoid any real responses to it. Instead, you go off on your tangents, spouting amusing b.s.

But in your part of the world.

'You find the music of Mark Foster.

Then from Mark you find the books by Hunter S. Thompson

"The US spends more on military than 7 supposed first world countries.:p
