I'm currently in the process of choosing a university course, becoming a retail trader has made me fall in love with the profession....i understand theres no degree that teaches trading, but which would be best. I may just keep it general with Economics?

An understanding of macroeconomics is handy. You'd do well taking statistics too. Beyond that, it depends on what you want to trade. If you want to focus on individual stocks, you may want to pick up some accounting and/or securities analysis (generally a Finance course) training.

Take a look at the CMT (Certified Market Technician) program.
They try to assist you in the process of using charts as a trading tool.

You can use their recommended reading on the right side of the page
to see if you are familiar with the subjects that they want you to
focus on, or you can use these materials for self-studying.

Cheers,
