Trojan:JS/BlacoleRef.CL

"Trojan:JS/BlacoleRef.CL is a detection name for an obfuscated JavaScript, often found inserted into compromised websites. This threat is designed to load a hidden ****** that loads behind the user's browser, redirecting it to an exploit server known as "Blackhole"."

this bloody trojan managed to get in and drop one of those annoying fake scam antivirus things. i've just wasted an hour or so cleaning this bugger off my pc

this morning the only sites visited are -

google
trade2win
babypips
b&q
yahoo
spreadbetchick
twitter
youtube
investopedia
wikipedia

one of those sites is not mainstream, so spreadbetchick.com must be the culprit?

anyone else copped the avasoft virus today?

I think spreadbetchick is clean, and the chick 'herself' isn't exactly up on the tech - she never even visited her own site. I visited them several weeks ago and my PC is still good. They are more interested in your following their signals than to hack you. Maybe you caught it from a porn site you 'forgot' to list ?

Install microsoft security essentials and be done with it.

hi joe, yes that's what i'm running. it did try and stop the threat and it was in process of quarantining the trojan, but it failed to stop the payload.

i only suspect spreadbetchick as the rest of the sites visited this morning could hardly be suspect. and no, that's the complete list :)
