hi, does anyone knows the Trend Strength Identifier indicator ?
i would like to know the code for it, in easylanguage if possible
or whatever else language. I don't know if it's allowed to publish
the reference here, but there is no other indicator with this name
i think.

of course, it would be possible to widen the topic of this thread
to the large one of distinction between trending and trading markets,
if ever someone knows other ways to distinguish those as well
as the above mentionned indicator seems to do it at first sight. :)

nope........we are all struggling here

Trend Strength has a multitude of indicators to identify it already .......

RSI might be worth looking at

N

thanks for the answer, but RSI is not what i was looking for,
the word 'strength' has another meaning here...
I don't know if you saw this indicator i mentionned,
it looks great for what it is supposed to indicate.
seems worth to try to figure out the code...

Cumulative delta is probably the best indicator followed by volume.

The more participation, the more strength.

I would avoid using anything based on price. When the market grinds up, this is a strong move. When a market pops up rapidly, this is more likely to be a weak move.

A strong trend has price acceptance on the way up, which means it won't be a rapid move.
