Trading platform for European markets

Hi all,

I am new to the forum and am really here because I would like to know more about the markets generally and learn about trading.

I was just wondering if there are any trading software platforms that are specifically for the European markets? Also, is there a lot of activity on the European markets? Is there a real trading culture over there as there is in the UK?

Sorry for the lack of knowledge, but am keen to learn.

x_trader covers eurex, liffe and the US futures markets, and is also the most widely used platform in the world.

It aint cheap however.

You may want to take a look at interactive brokers http://www.interactivebrokers.co.uk/ . Access is available on the same platform http://www.interactivebrokers.com/php/retailAccount/products.php for futures, stocks and options in 8 countries, including the UK.
