Time frames

Hello All,

First time poster, been lurking and learning for a while and I have a question. For a couple of months I've been trading ES minis and averaged around 25-30 points a month, (2% at risk per trade) and consider my setup to be working.

My question is about changing time frames. Most of my time is spent studying the 15 minute charts looking for my setup. I have also traded my setup successfully on 3 minute T/F. The question is do you "toggle" through various time frames to find your setup or do you stick to a single T/F? And do you ever enter on one T/F and use another T/F to manage that trade?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and all the great info on this forum.

In my view it depends entirely on your strategy - a price chart might look the same on a 3m as at does a 15m, or a daily chart, but the factors that determine the price in each of those timeframes change.

The more you understand the opportunities you are looking to exploit, the better you can deploy your strategy and maximise it's effectiveness.
