Hi

I'm looking for analysis of retail investors, private punters who are in different uk shares, is there such a thing available? I have looked on the lse website and can't see anything, maybe I'm whistling in the wind! Any answers? Cheers.

Its a long long way from being hard empirical data,
but its the best I can think of:
Users' Holdings | Interactive Investor
Each stock has its own message board, each MB lists other holdings.

No idea what that actually means, could just be forum posts,
or possibly trades via iii.
Far from a reliable source, better than nothing may well be incorrect in
this instance.
Thats for you to decide...

TBH though, I think you would be better of looking into who the
institutional holders are:
Home Channel | Digital Look
Example:
Lloyds Banking Group Company Research - Stock Quote (LLOY) Share Prices, Stock Quotes, Charts, News, Financials, and More - Digital Look
Major shareholders are under the director deals tab.

Thanks for that, didn't think of looking at institutional holders.

Don't forget that as with LLOY, the main holders may have completely different
motives for holding the stock than you would - pension funds etc.

A better technique for day trading would be to watch the larger sized trades,
usually not for odd sized numbers of stock / odd cash size.
That all depends on whether or not its a discretionary desk placing the orders,
or an algo.
Watch time & sales, you'll soon spot those kind of differences.
