Resources about portfolio creation/diversification

Hi,

I am trying to find books/courses/articles about portfolio creation. The stuff I find are and seems to be (the books) not very mathematics oriented but philosophical.

Do you have any suggestions about a book that teaches you the basics and then throws you some really cool mathematics ?
(I just find "random" how to diversify a portfolio.)

Some old books that I found interesting are:

" Active Portfolio Management" by Grinold & Kahn & " Quantitative Equity Portfolio Management" by Chincarini & Kim

They're not really useful in short term trading though...
