Hi,

I just recently opened a brokerage account and would like to learn how to day trade.
What are the best private live teaching courses or courses on dvd to learn
properly. I am a fast learner and would like to do this the right way. I just don't want to
start trading and lose money right away. I would much rather put that money towards learning.

thank you
alan

The vast majority of courses being marketed are complete rubbish. The guys selling them can't trade so they 'teach' instead. It will take you months if not years to learn how to trade profitably so ignore all the ridiculous claims they make.

There are free resources such as the james16 chart thread at forexfactory.com that are better than those paid courses but it's a lot of work.

HI

What do you want to trade, how much money have u got in ur account and which broker are you using.

I aggree with pboyles most paid sites r a waste of time and money and james16 is an great place to start.

Also u need to look at money management its so over looked by beginners. Without money management ur pretty much doomed to failure.

depends on which markets:
forex- be careful! soooo many scams out there for forex... i would recommend babypips.com as a startjust to get to know a little...after that it's up to you to go yourself or with the help of forums etc, eg james16/jacko. i haven't found much use of forums... but i gt in contact with a great trader over trade2win and without his help i would be stuck.
stocks: try daytradingradio.com , i just tune in and listen and may be some use.
www.tradethemarkets.com - a must! john catrter posts free videos up, some even off live trades etc ...invaluable.

Also...don't listen to everyone when theysay 'indicators are bogus' , just because when THEY used them they were in the holy grail mentality they couldn't find a use for them, there are plenty of very good traders who use indies, john carter does actually
thank you

demo trade!

No matter how much research you do, you'll still lose money when you start, and probably for most of the first year. Just make sure you start with small stakes so you can stay in the game long enough to learn how to break even.

You should not have to pay to learn how to trade

This site has a wealth of resource and information at your figure tips. It juts requires a little effort to read the posts.

The firm you opened a spread betting account with may offer you some form of free training, you should ask them.
